Dost toh sabke hote hain. Leki ek dost aisa bhi hota hai jisko pata hai wo barabar ka nahi hai, lekin unki dosti aur bhi gehri hoti hai. Aur wo hota hai ‘Hero Ka Dost,’ the side character. Ye kahani uski nahi hoti, Hero ki hoti hai. Sara focus Hero pe hota hai. Dost ka sirf side character hota hai, kaafi bas bas comic relief ke liye. Lekin kisi bhi situation mein, marte dum tak sath deta hai, aur film ko interesting banaye rakhta hai. Celebrating “Hero Ka Dost” on this National Best Friends Day.
1. Kabir Singh (2018)
Jis tareeke se Kabir Shiva ka saath deta tha, waisa hi dost sabko milna chahiye. Everyone deserves a friend like Shiva. He was not only a helping buddy, but was also like a shield to Kabir. He tried to protect and support Kabir even when he was rude, arrogant and abusive. Despite being scolded by Kabir, Shiva still helped him out in every situation, no matter what. Shiva was like family to Kabir. This is called true friendship.
2. Munnabhai Series (2003-2006)
Munna and Circuit are iconic characters in Bollywood, but their friendship is also legendary. “Bhai ne bola karna ka toh karne ka.” He is always there for him, fir chale ho ghar khali karana ho, jail jana ho, bed chahiye ho ya body.
Do you remember in “Lage Raho Munna Bhai” when Munna slaps Circuit because he was lying about Mahatma Gandhi? After that, Circuit goes to the beach and sits alone, saying he was missing his mother. Despite this, Circuit asks Munna, “Kuch kaam hai kya, Bhai?” This proves that one slap cannot ruin a true friendship. Circuit takes “Hero Ka Dost’ to a whole new level.

3. Raanjhanaa (2013)
Kundan was the Raanjhanaa in love, but Kundan’s best friend Murari was the Raanjhanaa in friendship. Raanjhanaa showcases both sides of craziness: one of love and the other of friendship. Murari was that friend who was ready to go to any lengths for his dearest friend Kundan. His name was Murari (the name of God Krishna), but he played his character like he was Sudama to Krishna (Kundan). He used to be angry with him, scolded him, but always came for him in need. A true ‘Hero Ka Dost.”

4. Om Shanti Om (2023)
The friendship between Pappu and Om is truly commendable. Pappu was ready to do anything for Om’s success. Both of them were so close that they were willing to make sacrifices for each other. Not only in life, Pappu fulfilled his duties as a true friend even after Om’s death, by taking care of his mother however possible. Pappu and Om’s friendship was loyal; they were each other’s backbone. Pappu played an important role in helping Om to get his love Shantipriya. Pappu also took risks for Om to help him take revenge from Mukesh Mehra.
5.12th Fail (2023) [Mother’s Day]
12th Fail teaches audiences about studies, struggle, and inspiration, but it also highlights the essence of true friendship. The friendship between Pritam and Manoj is so transparent and clear. There is a scene where Pritam misbehaves with Shraddha, she was crying because of Pritam. However, when Manoj is going for his interview, he meets Pritam first because Pritam was the one who brought Manoj to the coaching center in Delhi. Thanks to Pritam, Manoj got his job. If Manoj hadn’t met Pritam at the station, he might have returned to his village. When Manoj became an IPS officer, Pritam and Gauri Bhaiya were the happiest people. Gauri Bhaiya, another dear friend to Manoj, helped him a lot, even though he did not have to. Some people are just born good, and are the support system for a lot of Heroes out there.
Did you know that the author of the book “12th Fail,” Anurag Pathak, is the real-life Pritam Pandey? They are so close that Anurag wrote a book about Manoj, bringing his story in limelight. In the movie also, the story is narrated by Pritam.
6. Mimi (2017) [Hero Ka Dost]
With the journey of motherhood, “Mimi” also tells a story of friendship. Mimi and Shama were best friends, and whenever Mimi needed anything, Shama took care of her. When Mimi was pregnant, Shama gave her house to Mimi so that no one would know about her surrogacy. Shama stood by Mimi in every situation. Kuch characters bas side mein hi rehte hain, lekin story ke strong pillars hote hain. Lekin kya hum unki utni baat karte hain??
