As revealed in Marvel Studios’ ‘Secret Invasion’ series, during the battle against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, a lot of heroes shed blood. After the battle was over, the Skrulls and other trusted agents collected these blood samples on the orders of Nick Fury.
[P.S. It is interesting to note how Marvel thinks and writes stories about what happened after the war, which the audience generally forgets. In ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ it was the Department of Damage Control (DODC) and now this].
Using the blood, the DNA of each Avenger and other enhanced was extracted and put in a vial including Captain Marvel’s, called ‘The Harvest’. It was later shown in the series that this vial can be used to gain the special abilities of the heroes when G’iah and Gravik go head to head with each other.
This can prove to be pivotal in shaping Captain Marvel and Nick Fury’s long-known alliance and causing strained trust between the two, based on the fact that nobody involved in the battle had consented to the creation of ‘The Harvest’ and it falling into the wrong hands may bring more chaos into the Universe.
Samuel L Jackson had earlier stated that,
“The series has to happen so that The Marvels can happen. All these things are connected in an interesting sort of way.”
So this theory makes more sense as ‘The Marvels’ is set right after ‘Secret Invasion’ in the MCU timeline. Also, she gains Captain Marvel’s powers as well. Which she obviously would not want. All such unexpected chaos and drama can lead to a new change in Phase-5 of the MCU.
Audiences are even more excited for The Marvels after witnessing this twist from Secret Invasion which can change the entire course of the MCU.
The Marvels are all set to shine bright this Diwali, only in theatres in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, and will feature Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Iman Vellani as Miss Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Zawe Ashton as Dar-Benn and Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury.
