Devara Part One Bahubali: The Way of Water Review
Review ke pehle ek warning- This will be full of spoilers so if you haven’t watched Devara yet then skip directly to the verdict section! Now with that spoiler warning let’s begin this review.
Devara Ki Kahani
Dekho bhai kuch khaas aisi kahani hai nahi. Simple baap-bete ki story hai jo hazaar baar hum already dekh chuke hai. Bas ismai inhone baap ke character ke around ek naya element add kiya hai mystery aur fear ka uspe aagey baat karenge. Baaki vahi simple story hai baap ke saath kuch hota hai, beta nikamma hota hai, fir vahi routine elements hai jaise change of heart, ek dost se dushman bana villain vagaira vagaira. Toh kahani pe zyada discuss karke matlab nahi hai.Â
Jr.NTR aur baakio ka kaam
The performances are the one thing jismai mai koi kami nahi nikalunga. Jr.NTR ka kaam, as both Devara and Vara, kaafi badhiya hai. His screen presence elevates the movie and adds something to the otherwise routine presentation. Ek achhi baat yeh lagi ki Saif ko bhi almost Jr.NTR jitna screentime diya hai aur as usual Saif ka kaam bohot badhiya hai, but uske character ki writing aur bohot better ho sakti thi.
Baaki, Janhvi Kapoor kyu thi bhai movie mai? Her role added nothing to the movie just like Disha in Kalki. Baaki Chuttamalle dekhne mil gaya toh main complaint nahi kar raha. One thing I noticed about Janhvi in this movie is she looked more comfortable on screen. Maine hindi dubbed mai dekhi thi toh I noticed that her dialogue delivery has considerably improved. 1-2 baar hasa bhi diya tha usne. Rest, Prakash Raj vahi kar rahe hai jo unhone KGF mai kia tha aur baakio ka kaam bhi achha hi hai.
Anirudh Carries Hard!
Nobody can deny the fact that Jailer was carried by Anirudh, aur yaha bhi same hi case hai. Simple se simple scene ko bhi bande ke score ne ekdum elevate kar diya. Baaki one complaint I have with Anirudh is ki ab vo repetitive sound karne lag gaya hai. Every single product he delivers sounds the same. Sun ne mai kharab nahi lagta par he needs to recreate the magic of an album like Master.
Baaki jo kuch thoda bohot impact aata hai scenes main it is largely because of him and I would give him full credit for that! Also, kuch aise bhi moments hai movie mai jo actually dekhne mai achhe lagte hai, par unki quantity bohot kam hai.
Movie ke baaremai bas achhi chiz sun ni thi toh khatam hogai hai bhai ab aagey ek lamba rant aayega.
Devara ki Kamiya
My biggest complaint with the movie is the level of mediocirty it reaches in its presentation and storytelling. Bhai kuch toh effort maar dete. Na koi character ke motivations dhang se establish kiye na vo fear wala element theek se create kar paaye.
Ek character jisko dhang se introduce bhi nahi kia, na usko time diya aur na Devara se utni achhi relationship establish ki uski. Do scene baad vahi character ki death dikhadi. Fir reveal karte hai ki jo weapons se uski death hui thi vo Devara aur baaki lootero ne hi chori kiye the (Yeh toh maine bilkul bhi expect hi nahi kiya tha vaise). Uske baad ek speech sunke Devara ka heart change hojata hai aur vo apne hi logo ko maarne lagta hai aur tum chahte ho ki yeh dekh ke audience ke mann mai Devara ka fear establish hojaaye?
Na tumhare VFX CGI achhe hai ki banda usko dekh ke khush hojaye. Na tumne action pe kuch zyada mehnat ki, na wirework achha hai movie mai bas khoon udta dikha diya aur laga ki log pagal hojayege.
Faltu Ka Plot Twist And Forced Sequel
Ab aate hai uss saste plot twist pe. Bhai kasam se keh raha hu interval ke baad hi samaj gaya tha mai ki Devara marr gaya hai aur jo kar raha hai uska beta jisko nikamma dikhaya hai vahi kar raha hai. Movie itni slow pace pe move karti hai ki jabtak yeh faltu twist reveal karte hai tab tak audience ka pura interest hi loose ho chuka hota hai. Bas vo reveal bhi Anirudh ke score ke karan dekhne mai thoda theek lagta hai.
Aur jo faltu ka Bahubali recreate karneka try kia hai yeh batake ki Devara ko uske bete ne hi maara hai part 2 banane ke liye vo zara sa bhi work nahi karta. End mai dikhaya ki Devara ka beta balidaan de deta hai aur Devara toh pehle hi marr jata hai toh bhai Part 2 mai Saif se ladega kaun? Kahani bete NTR ki death pe hi complete thi kyu forceful part 2 banate hai samaj nahi aata. Aur starting mai itna Yeti Yeti kar rahe the kaha gaya vo? Usko toh bhul hi gaye.Â
Verdict & Rating
Agar tum Jr.NTR ke ekdum die hard fan ho toh bas unki performance ke liye dekhna hai toh dekhlo. Ya fir tumhe Janhvi ke Chuttamalle song mai Anirudh ke ‘Ahh’ pe chillana hai toh bhi dekh sakte ho vaise. Baaki Anirudh ne thodi movie save kardi, sabka performance badhiya tha. Par kuch bhi naya expect karke mat jana storytelling aur presentation ke hisaab se. Plot twist bhi bohot predictable hai. Screenplay bhi ekdum dragged hai aur end aate aate tum patience lose kardogey. Part 2 ka wait mujhe toh kam se kam bilkul bhi nahi hai. Baaki dekhni hi hai toh dekhlo.
