This week saw a lot of chatter surrounding the film industry, from casting developments to multiple release announcements, here we are at OCD Times bringing to you, your weekly dose of Samachar! Samachar This Week

Marvel Ke Achhe Din

Kevin chacha ne tehelka macha diya! quite a week for the MCU and its fans.
The Russo Brothers will return to direct the next 2 Avengers films. The title for the 5th Avengers film has been changed from Avengers: Kang Dynasty to Avengers: Doomsday.

Robert Downey Jr. has been officially announced to return to the MCU as well to play Dr.Doom! Moreover, Marvel’s recent release Deadpool and Wolverine is smashing the box office and has already grossed $600M worldwide and is expected to breach the billion mark by next week.

Additionally, MCU has become the only franchise to cross $30 Billion at the worldwide box office!

Border Main Naye Fauji

Diljit Dosanjh has now joined the cast of Border 2 and will be playing the role of an army officer. Ammy Virk and Ahan Shetty are also rumoured to be a part of the film, whereas Ayushmann Khurrana is still under negotiations with the makers and hasn’t given his final approval yet. Releasing on 23 January 2026.

Jawani Hai Magar Ishq Nahi Hua

Sreeleela has walked out of Varun Dhawan’s next comedy entertainer directed by David Dhawan titled Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai due to scheduling conflicts. Her replacement has not been locked yet.

Naya Din, Nayi Duology Ki Khabar

Jr.NTR is in talks with Hi Nanna director Shouryuv, for a high-octane action drama that is planned as a two-parter. The film may start in the first quarter of 2026, after the actor completes War 2, Devara 2, and Dragon by 2025 end. The aim is to release the first instalment in 2028 and the second part in 2031.

Barring these updates, there has been a lot of developments regarding various other projects as well.

1. Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya have cracked the script for their next film, while Prem Ki Shaadi is no longer happening.
   
2. After Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Kartik Aaryan will be next seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 and Anurag Basu’s next.
   
3. According to reports, the Ayushmann-Rashmika film in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) is titled Thamma and not Vampires of Vijay Nagar.
   
4. Ranveer Singh has officially announced his next titled Dhurandhar.
   
5. Kunal Kapoor has joined the cast of Ramayan.
   
6. Bobby Deol is in advance talks to play the second villain in Devara Part 1.
   
7. Tiger Shroff likely to begin with Baaghi 4 after NGE completes Sikandar and Housefull 5.
   
8. Anurag Kashyap’s next in association with Prime Video will feature Bal Thackeray’s grandson Aaishvary Thackeray.
   
9. Hombale Films are looking to begin making original Hindi films.
   
10. Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and Ulajh receive disastrous pre-sales at the box office.
    
11. Pragya Jaiswal has joined the cast of NBK 109.

Shoots – Kya Shuru Kya Khatam

1. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has wrapped up filming.
   
2. Sharvari starts shooting for Alpha.
   

New Releases, Release Dates and Announcements

1. Jolly LLB 3 will release on 10th April 2025 clashing with Prabhas’ The Rajasaab.
   
2. Citadel: Honey Bunny will start streaming on Prime Video from 7th November.
   
3. Trailers for Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa have been released. 3way clash is on including Stree 2.
   
4. Kantara 2 will release in Summer 2025.
   
5. Sonu Sood directorial Fateh starring himself and Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead role will release on 10th January 2025.
   
6. Bad Newz crosses 100 crores at the worldwide box office.

Hollywood and other International Samachar

1. The Fantastic 4: First Steps will release on 25th July 2025.
   
2. Squid Game Season 2 has been officially announced to stream on Netflix from 26th December 2024 and the final season of Squid Game will premiere in 2025.
   
3. The Penguin will premiere on 19th September 2024 on MAX.
   
4. Batman: Caped Crusader has been released on Prime Video.
