Teaser Overview
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is an absurd title for sure. They could have stopped after the first line. Active ka Passive voice banane ki zarurat nahi thi. Ray and Rumi would have been a great title, as those are the names of Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday in the film.
They released the teaser on Kartik Aaryan’s birthday today, with the film releasing in 33 days. Let’s discuss this teaser in detail.
The Length
1 minute 34 seconds is good enough for a teaser. 6 seconds in the beginning and 6 seconds at the end are taken away in text cards. More are spread across the teaser.
No complaints there, let’s move on.
The Cut
A very average and decent cut.
Decent because it does ot have anything bad in it. It does not show a lot like a trailer.
A big chunk after the first minute is taken by the Jellyfish-Susu joke. Again it helps in not revealing too much, and at the same time, shows the fun side of the characters, hinting at the fun vibe of the film.
Average because it fails to excite me enough for the film. It’s a glimpse. It does not actually ‘tease’ me enough to make me want to know more, want to watch it. Its just okay. Not bad, not great.
Plot We Know
The biggest hint is the quote that comes in the beginning –
If you are going to live another week,
Live the best week of your life.
Does this mean that one of them is dying and they have come to have fun in their last week?
It may be the case or it may be a random quote.
The film is definitely set in a holiday, where they meet at the airport and are annoyed by each other, like it happened in Hum Tum. Obviously, they meet each other repeatedly and fall in love. Itna toh samajh aya hai teaser se lekin conflic kya hai, journey kya hai nahi pata. Accha ha, teaser mein sab batana bhi nahi hota.
Music
The film seems to have multiple songs with foreign locations, dance numbers, parties, and romance. Hope the songs are good. I would try to not watch any of the songs on YouTube, as the makers have a habit of releasing full songs, and it takes away the fun from the theatrical experience.
Director Sameer Vidwans
The director’s previous film was Satyaprem Ki Katha. The film had a deeper and more serious problem, which was dealt with delicate care in the film. I feel Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri too will have some serious topic hidden behind all the fun vibes we are getting. Can’t stop thinking about the quote they showed at the beginning.
It may be that after they fall in love on a holiday like Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, they are living normally when suddenly they realize that one of them have a medical condition like Saiyaara. Only this time, they are dying and now want to spend one week the same way on a holiday, like they did when they met each other.
