Remember me, Eddie! I’ll always remember you, Buddy!
Review ke pehle ek warning- This will be full of spoilers so if you haven’t watched Venom 3 yet then skip directly to the verdict section! Now with that spoiler warning let’s begin this review.
Aakhri Naach Ka Stage (Plot)
Plot? Kuch nahi hai. Story aspect main Venom 3 bhi vahi kaam karti hai jo Sony ki baaki movies karte aa rahi hai- ek simple sa one-liner leke puri ek film banana. Yeh simple se one-liner ko 1h 50m tak sirf khicha gaya ha aur upar se screenplay bhi kaafi mediocre hai jiski vajah se movie dragged aur slow feel hoti hai inspite of such short runtime. Writing ke maamle mai bhi kahi mehnat nahi ki gai. Puri movie bas convenience ke hisaab se chalti jaati hai, more on that in the writing section!
Aakhri Naach Ki Choreography (Writing)
Iss movie ki sabsi badi kami iski writing hai. They had to answer all the questions the fans had related to all multiversal bakchodis that had happened and they spent literally zero effort in doing so. Puri picture bas convenience pe chal rahi hai. Toxin ko vaapas laa ke bhi ekdum waste kar diya. Codex ka concept interesting tha, but execution and presentation aur bohot zyada better ho sakta tha.
Baaki emotional aspects ki baat karu toh movie does have a heart. Aakhri ke 10 minute mai emotional bhi hojaaogey thode, but that is not because of the writing of the movie, rather it is because of the love we have towards Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and Venom. But, credit where it’s due – Memories wala gaana use karne ki choice achhi thi vaise aur Statue Of Liberty wala scene bhi hit kiya.
Eddie-Venom Chemistry and Humour
Now coming to the best part of the movie- Eddie aur Venom ke beech ka banter and comedy. Movie jaha funny hai vaha bohot maza aati hai bhai. Eddie aur Venom ke conversations sun ne mai kaafi maza aata haio aur Venom ko jo thoda naive aur sunki types dikhaya hai usko dekh ke bhi maza aata hai. Baaki jo road trip aur adventure pe jaate dikhaya hai dono ko vo dekh ke bhi entertain ho jaate hai.
In short, Eddie aur Venom ke scenes are undoubtedly the highlight of the movie aur upar se Tom Hardy ka kaam as expected kaafi badhiya tha. I also liked that they brought Chen back aur uska aur Venom ka dance jitna stupid tha utna hi dekhne mai maza bhi aa raha tha.
Iss Naach Mai Dikhaaye Gaye Bhinn Bhinn Prakar Ke Jeev
I don’t know about you guys, but I thoroughly enjoyed the ridiculousness of the movie. Bhai kya kya prakar ke jaanwaro ko Venom bante dikha diya yaar. Mendhak, ghoda, machhli, cockrach, itna absurd lagta hai dekhne mai par ek campy maza bhi aata hai. They were aware about what they were doing and went all out with it. That’s what I enjoyed! Baaki, CGI and VFX was hit and miss aur Knull bhi for name sake hi tha movie mai.
Mid credits mai usko as future threat establish karneki koshish toh ki hai aur end credit mai cockroach Venom ko bhi dikha diya hai toh I am very unsure about what they are setting up. Also, itne saare Venom symbiotes dekhne milte hai iske climax mai but vo thoda messy feel hota hai, usko bhi aur bohot better tareeke se dikhaya jaa sakta tha. Baaki spiderman ka toh pata hi tha ki nahi dikhne waala hai.
Best Of The Franchise?
Now, to answer the most important question ki is it the best Venom movie? Toh personally I would say no. I would still keep the first venom movie above this, but it is a lot better than Let There Be Carnage. Atleast it has some heart and entertaining aspects jiski vajah se movie tumhe torture toh nahi karegi. Baaki I don’t get the fuss about it being the best movie of the franchise as according to me the first Venom was definitely better. Teeno movies mai ek baat kaafi common hai – Garam karke thanda chhod dena.
Post-Credit Scenes In Detail
There are two scenes – one is mid-credit and the other one at the very end.
The first one shows Knull announcing that he will return. Fans are speculating that he may appear in Tom Holland and Marvel Studios’ Spider-man 4. The role is played by prolific mo-cap actor Andy Serkis, who played Gollum in The Lord of the Rings films.
In the second post-credit scene, we see the unnamed bartender who was taken into custody for questioning by the military, emerging from the hole leading to Area 55 that was created during the battle with Knull’s Xenophage. He stumbles through the rubble, calling “Hello!?” and “Hola!?” as if looking for rescue, or any evidence of survivors.
We then see a broken vial that would have contained one of the multiple symbiote samples from the lab. A cockroach crawls into it and it appears that something was left over and has now latched onto the insect. It may be a piece of Venom symbiote that Strickland took from the bar earlier.
Also, there’s a sparkle of electricity in the vial which hints that it might be a piece of the Agony symbiote left over from when Dr Teddy Paine broke that vial. Or it may mean nothing. Many a times these scenes do not actually lead up to something. What are your thoughts on this?
Verdict & Rating
Agar tumhe Venom franchise ki pichhli movies pasand aai thi aur tum iss franchise ke fan ho toh tumhe yeh movie bhi enjoyable lagegi. Personally, I would describe it as brainless fun with nothing much to offer in terms of plot and writing. Movie bas chalte jaati hai aur tum dekhte jaate ho. Eddie-Venom ko dekh ke maza aayega tumhe, but at the same time kaafi stretched bhi feel hogi movie. Baaki last ke 10-15 minutes hit karte hai especially if you are a fan. Overall, achha khaasa timepass ho jayega but don’t expect anything exceptional!
PS: Don’t expect any big cameo as well!
