Everyone was trolling YRF for not promoting War 2 – till now. There was no official announcement, and we are only five months away from the film’s release.
Someone Entered The Chat
On March 14, on the occasion of Holi, OCD Times made a fan-reel where a WhatsApp group chat of Yrf’s Spy Universe was going on. The chat was funny at first, but after exactly a minute, things got serious when X entered… nah wait, let’s not spoil it for you if you haven’t seen it already.

The First Ever Official Announcemnt of War 2
Till now whatever we know about War 2 has been through media. Whether it is Jr NTR as the villain, Kiara Advani in an undisclosed role, Anil Kapoor as the RAW chief, shooting schedules, dance-off between Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan, some leaks from foreign shoots, entry sequence of all the 3 leads, Hrithik’s leg injury, everything has been revealed via media and no official announcement has come from Yrf. No announcements and no assets.
But the fan edit by OCD Times made so much noise that Yrf could not ignore it and they chose us to make their first official post about War 2.
They also confirmed the release date of War 2 being 14 August 2025, putting all rumours to rest about any postponement.

YRF quote-tweeted OCD Times’ post with..
“Must say… you have set it up brilliantly even before we have started our marketing of #War2 🔥😎💥😱💪 … there will be mayhem in cinemas on 14 August 2025, worldwide… 😈⚠️‼️🚨🤯”
The press release for War 2 is currently going on, and we will soon see official announcement videos and marketing assets from YRF. This moment completely changed the atmosphere for Hrithik and NTR fans, because the fan edit by OCD Times was total madness!
For the First Time Ever A Production House Replied to a Fan Edit!
YRF has finally broken the loop—while T-Series, Dharma Productions, and other production houses never reply to fan edits, YRF did it!
And not just reply, they used the unofficial promo as the first formal announcement from the studio. This has never been done before.
It’s great that Yrf has broken the norms and done something different. We hope they do the same with the film’s marketing too. All eyes are now of the next asset. Any guesses when it will drop?
About War 2
War 2 serves as the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War. It is the 6th film in Yrf’s Spy Universe, following Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan and Tiger 3. While the first film was directed by Siddharth Anand, the upcoming installment is directed by Ayan Mukerji.
War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani in a crucial role, with Anil Kapoor expected to feature as the RAW chief. The high-octane action film is currently is set to release on 14 August 2025.
