The much-awaited sequel to the 2019 hit film ‘Dream Girl’ is postponed for the second time. The team of ‘Dream Girl 2’ announced the news with the following reel on Instagram.
Delayed for the Second Time
The initial release date for the film was 29 June 2023, making it a festive release on Eid ul-Adha, or Bakrid/Qurbani Eid, which was synonymous with their marketing slogan, “Eid Pe Pooja Hogi”. It was also a box office clash with Kartik Aaryan – Kiara Advani starrer ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’.
Later the film was postponed one week to 7 July 2023, making it a clash with Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna starrer ‘Yodha’. Their new marketing slogan was “Saat Ko Saath Mein”.
Reason for the delay
As per reports, the film is being delayed because the team has decided to invest more time in VFX, which would be applied to Ayuhmann’s face to make him look more feminine.

The first part of the Dream Girl franchise was released in 2019, and it was a great hit and one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of that year. In the film, Ayushmann played a man who worked as a female call center executive and due to his disguised voice, he became the object of desire for men in the city and took the audience on a hilarious roller-coaster ride. Both the films are directed by Raaj Shaandilya.
We really hope the second part is as entertaining, if not more. And this time, there are no more delays. Toh ab milenge Pooja se August mein. “Pooja Ki Kiss on August Pachees”
