Raid 2 Teaser Cut
What a teaser! I’ve said a lot of times that cutting a teaser or tailer is an art. Every editor has the whole film with them, but what they show and how they show it, is a choice. Raid 2 teaser cut is amazing!
The Sequel Factor
A film being a sequel is a big power, which can help in selling the film due to nostalgia factor. If done right, it can give a great boost, but I feel this only for actual sequels and not spiritual sequels (new story).
Opening with Saurabh Shukla as Raja Ji was a great idea. His reaction, “subah subah kiska naam le liya,” made me giggle like a true fan. Ajay Devgn walking in style as he is introduced is what we call magic of cinema.
Dada Bhai Intro
Simple but to the point intro. It is Amay Patnaik’s 75th Raid, at Dada Bhai’s house, who is a big politician. Riteish Dekhmukh is very much loved as an antagonist, and it seems he will be loved here too. His expressions and dialogue delivery in this small teaser seems promising.
Wife Badal Gayi
I think Illeana D’cruz is not acting anymore and hence she has been recast. The story is definitely a continuation so this is the only logical explanation of having Vaani Kapoor in the film. Her look that we see in just one shot is similar to how we had see Illeana in part 1. Aur koi explanation hai? Comment mein batana.
Editing on Sound
Sound design is the most interesting part of this teaser. Notice how all the cuts are on beats. All the texts are appearing on music beats. The way they revealed the date, made me say, “wow! ” This happens very less, and here it was done beautifully.
Plot and Trailer
Again I would say, this is enough for me. If I didn’t have to review, I would have skipped the trailer completely. Trailer means seeing more footage, knowing more plot details and it ruins the fun of watching something being completely unaware. But jo hai wo hai.
