Baby John In Border
Exciting casting update! Varun Dhawan joins Sunny Deol in JP Dutta’s Border 2. The movie will go live on floors in November this year. Apart from this, Varun Dhawan has a thrilling lineup this year with Citadel Hunny-Bunny in November and Baby John in December.
Prabhas X Hanu Raghavapudi
The Pooja Ceremony took place for Prabhas’ next film with Sita Ramam director Hanu Raghavapudi on 17 August. It is going to be a historical period drama, starring Prabhas, Imanvi, Mithun, and Jaya Prada in key roles.
Stree 2 – Sole Winner Of The Independence Day ClashThis Week
Stree 2 beat Pathaan’s opening day collection, coming at number 2 spot in the highest openers of all time, only after Jawan. The film opened at ₹55.40 Cr nett on day 1, and ₹60.80 nett including paid previews.
Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa opened with single digits.

August Ka Bhoot Aur Bhaukaal Aur Bhagwaan
While the rage of Stree 2 will still linger on, there are no other big releases this month.
- Kalki 2898AD will be releasing on Netflix (Hindi) and Amazon Prime Video (South Languages) on 22 August.
- Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 teaser will release in the last week of August.
- Mirzapur bonus episode will also drop any day in August.
- Munjya ott release still awaited.
Highlights of the Week [Samachar This Week]
Barring these updates, there has been a lot of developments regarding various other projects as well.
- Stree 2 collected ₹100 Cr nett in just 2 days.
- Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa hit double digits on Day 3.
- Thangalan earned ₹26.44 Cr on its first day, all set to release in North India on 30th August, including Hindi.
- Sreeleela joins the cast of Siddharth Malhotra starrer Mitti.
- Director Anil Sharma announced his new project with Nana Patekar in the lead, titled Vanvaas.
- Saif Ali Khan’s first glimpse from Devara is out now.
- Akshay Oberoi joins the cast of Yash starrer Toxic.
- Upendra announces his new film UI with Sunny Leone.
- First look of Varun Tej from Prime Original Matka is out now.
Shoots – Kya Shuru Kya Khatam
- Devara Part 1 – Shoot wrapped, all set to release in theatres on 27th September 2024
- Kamal Hassan and director Mani Ratnam are currently shooting for Thug Life in Ramoji Film City.

- Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT trailer out now, all set for a grand release on 5th September 2024.
- Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency trailer out now. Releasing on 6th September 2024.
- Ananya Panday’s Call me Bae trailer out on 20 August 2024
- Sector 36 streaming on Netflix from 13th September 2024; trailer out soon, starring Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal in prominent roles.
- The trailer for the documentary Angry Young Men on Salim-Javed is out now streaming on Prime Video from August 20.
- Uorfi Javed’s reality show Follow Kar Lo Yaar, focusing on her personal life, has its trailer out now and streams on Prime Video from 23rd August 2024.
