Samachar This Week – 18/9/24

This week gave us a new all time grosser and various other updates surrounding upcoming big releases. So, here we are at OCD Times bringing to you, a recap of last week – your weekly dose of Samachar to cover all news, updates and rumours surrounding movies!

Sarkate Stree Ka Aatank Samachar

Vo Stree hai ATG bhi ban sakti hai! Stree 2 has beaten the Hindi Nett collection of SRK’s Jawan to become the Highest Grossing Hindi Language Movie of all time! The film beat Jawan’s lifetime record in 34 days flat and is marching forward to open the ₹600 Cr nett club for Hindi movies!!

Everything Is Fair In Love & War Of The Kings

According to reports, both Love & War and King are all set to have a mega clash at the box office. Both the movies are eyeing for a release on 20th March 2026 as the big Eid releases. None of them have begun filming yet, so changes in the dates are expected!

Bhooth Bangle Mein Pravesh

On the occasion of his birthday, Akshay Kumar announced a reunion with Priyadarshan after 14 years for a horror-comedy. The movie has been titled Bhooth Bangla and will be based on black magic. Paresh Rawal, Asrani and Rajpal Yadav have also joined the starcast alongside Akshay Kumar. The casting of the three female leads is underway!

Ramayana Grows Bigger

The upcoming biggie Ramayana has only grown bigger with each update. The latest news is that Ranbir Kapoor will be seen playing a double role in the movie. Not only Lord Ram, but he will also be seen as Maharishi Parshuram in the movie! Alongside Ranbir, Amitabh Bachchan has also made a grand entrance in the movie as the voice of Jatayu. 

Sikandaro Ki Fauj

Salman Khan’s next release, i.e Sikandar has welcomed three new members in it’s cast. Kajal Agarwal, Sharman Joshi and Jatin Sarna have joined the A.R.Murugados directorial in prominent roles. Sikandar hits theatres Eid 2025!

1. Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh and Soundarya Sharma have joined the cast of Housefull 5 as female leads.
   
2. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will be having 3 remake songs from the OG Bhool Bhulaiyaa – Ami Je Tomar, Title Track and Labon Ko.
   
3. Director Raaj Shaandilyaa confirms that he is writing a script with Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal in the leads.
   
4. Varinder Singh Ghuman who was last seen in Tiger 3 will be seen playing Lord Hanuman in Singham Again.
   
5. Tumbbad all set to surpass it’s initial run in the re release.
   
6. Skyforce touted to clash with Lahore 1947 on Republic Day weekend.
   
7. Akshay Kumar to star in a mass action movie titled Tiranga directed by Sanjay Puran Singh.
   
8. The Buckingham Murders disappoints at the box office.
   
9. Ranveer Singh to play a Sikh character in Aditya Dhar’s next.
   
10. Tripti Dimrii to star alongside Shahid Kapoor in Vishal Bharadwaj’s next.
    
11. Makers plan to make Baby John as a franchise.
    
12. Sreeleela to make her hindi debut with Ibrahim Ali Khan in a movie produced by Maddock Films.
    
13. Janhvi Kapoor to be paired opposite Sidharth Malhotra in a love story produced by Maddock Films.
    
14. Huma Qureshi joins Shefali Shah in Delhi Crime 3.

Shoots – Kya Shuru Kya Khatam

1. Singham Again wraps up filming exactly after one year.
   
2. Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi have wrapped up shoot for their portions for Ramayana.
   
3. King to go on floors in Mumbai in January 2025.
   
4. The shoot for Housefull 5 has started on the Ambassador’s cruise in UK.
   
5. Mumbai schedule of Son Of Sardaar 2 has been wrapped up.
   
6. Border 2 shoot to begin from 25th November.
   
7. Bhooth Bangla to commence shoot from January 2025.
   
8. Kartik Aaryan and Tripti Dimrii to start the shoot of Anurag Basu’s next love story from 24th September.

New Releases, Release Dates and Announcements

1. Thalapathy Vijay’s final film Thalapathy 69 has been officially announced.
   
2. Ananya Pandey starrer cyber thriller titled CTRL to stream on Netflix from 4th October.
   
3. Tumbbad 2 has been officially announced.
   
4. A movie based on the love story of Kamal Amrohi and Meena Kumari, titled Kamal Aur Meena has been announced.
   
5. Raid 2 officially postponed to 21st February 2025.
   
6. Kanika Dhillon and Taapsee Pannu reunite for a Netflix film titled Gandhari.
   
7. The Great Indian Kapil Show S2 to stream from 21st September on Netflix.
   
8. Taaza Khabar S2 to stream from 27th September on Disney+ Hotstar. 

Hollywood and other International Samachar

1. Sydney Sweeney and Ana De Armas to star together in a movie titled Eden which is reportedly based on a threesome relationship.
   
2. Shogun creates an all time record for a single season of TV by winning a total of 18 Emmys.
