This Welcome To The Jungle movie review is full of spoilers. If you just want the verdict, ki theatre mein dekhe ya nahi, toh skip to the last paragraph, and come back to this review after watching. Kyuki, “Har Baar Paisa Beech Mein Aa Jata Hai.”
Comedy
Sabko comedy ke bare mein hi janna hai toh sabse pehle iski hi baat kar lete hain. Welcome To The Jungle is better than Housefull 5 and Bhooth Bangla. But it is nowhere near the original Welcome or the comedy movies that used to come out. Still, looking at the crap sequels that we are getting now, this is somewhat better.
Cringe ya bura nahi hai bilkul bhi. Aisa nahi lagta hai ki jhel rahe hain, kab khatam hogi. Aur Bhooth Bangla jaisa bhi nahi ki second half mein pura bhul hi gaye comedy.
Yes, you get a lot of laughs throughout the movie. Genuine laughs as people were laughing and enjoying in the theatre. Many jokes are forced, and many of them are childish. But still the situation and delivery works. Credit goes to the actors and the writing of Neeraj Vora.
Neeraj Vora
He was the one who worked in many of the Priyadarshan movies and other comedies. Absurd characters in weird situations, those create the best laughs. Phir Hera Pheri hi yaad karlo, ek se badhke ek pagal characters hain.
But somehow that is missing these days, or is only found in small amounts in movies that call themselves comedy movies.

Farida Jalal – kisi ko samajh hi nahi ata kya bolti hain
Kiran Kumar – bas inko samajh ata hai lekin jab ye bolte hain wo kisi ko samajh nahi ata
Johny Lever – bolte bolte gunge ho jate hain, fir kisi ko samajh nahi ata kya bola
Shreyas Talpade – ek aisa DoP (the one who shoots movies), jisko dikhta hi nahi hai. Reminds you a lot of Javed Jaafri from Singh Is Kinng.
Old Akshay Kumar – totla nikalta hai
Raveena Tandon – baat baat pe thukti hai
Suniel Shetty – Yeda Anna from Awara Paagal Deewana
Direction
Despite the laughs, the movie is a drag. Too long, the screenplay is not that engaging, worst songs, spoilers during marketing, wasted characters, nostalgia bait and relies too much on quick gags as compared to how Welcome was a very balanced film back then.
Sirf writing se nahi hota na. Direction is even more important. Aise samjho – Baahubali ki same story agar Farhad Samji direct karte toh kya same film banti jo Rajamouli ne banai? Vision aur conviction bhi toh kuch hota hai na.
Worst Songs
Fans aur samosas toh nahi maanenge. Dekh liya maine har firm ke time pe social media, exact wahi pattern hota hai brainwashed low IQ logon ki blind praising. Ek title track accha compose kiya hai warna recreation mein bhi maa-behen karte hi hain.
Ik Uccha Lamba Kad ki kaise band bajai hai, you can check. Male singer ke parts jo original song mein the usko chhod ke pura bakwas hai. Aur video toh kya hi bolu. Bas Disha ko hot dikhao aur Akshay is doing whatever random stuff that is possible with low effort. The original ” Welcome had an essence to the song.
Mere Balam toh kachra no. 1 hai. Trailer mein hi mood kharab kar diya tha. Ek koi paisa wala song hai wo bhi maha bakwas. Beech mein gaaon wale ek gaana gaate hain wo bhi super duper bakwas.
Aur sabse ghatiya gaana toh Welcome To The Jungle ke intervel mein dikhaya. Haan interval mein ek gaana dala hai cool banne ke liye. By Talwinder. Mujhe nahi pata uske gaane kaise hote hain, kabhi nahi sune. Lekin ye jab aya samajh nahi aya ki isko gaana bhi kaise bol sakte hain. Still.. in sab ko fans aur samosas aise praise karenge ki na jaane kya masterpiece bana diya ho. Abhi Dhamaal 4 bhi yahi kar raha hai. Ek ke baad ek shit songs.
Gimmick Factor
Bhar bhar ke gimmicks pe rely kiya hai, jo ajkal trend mein hai. Jaise Welcome se koi lena dena nahi hai, bas franchise name use kar liya hai, Welcome To The Jungle. Theme song recreate kar liya. Ikk Uuncha Lamba Kad ka remake kar diya, ho gaya. Kuch aur naam rakh ke same film banate toh log jate hi nahi. Which means the merit is not in the film and the makers know about it.
Uday Majnu ke bina Welcome? Bas kehne ko Suniel-Arshad ko Uday-Majnu ka bhai bana diya. Ho gaya sequel. Arshad ka ek painting wala scene hai, aur ek jagah chashma nikalta hai (not like Majnu but kuch funny tarah se).
Suniel Shetty is Yeda-Anna. Haan wo bhulne wala part hai isme, but Akshay as Guru Gulab Khatri, Aftab hai Anmol, Paresh Rawal as Manilal, Johny Lever as Chota Chhatri, sabko disregard kar diya. Ek news ayi thi ye log ab asie hi Welcome, Hera Pheri aur Awara Paagal Deewana ke crossovers karenge. Zabardasti bas nostalgia ke liye aur comedy movie hai toh log zyada sochenge nahi. Inko lagta hai janta bewakoof hai, aur hum inki collections karwa ke bar bar ye proof bhi kar dete hain, that’s why nothing is changing in the industry, rather going down.
Phir Hera Pheri wala Gorilla bhi dal diya, Johny Lever says, “Main wo Hera Pheri wala nahi hu yaar.” Haan hasi ati hai ispe. But you see how gimmicks are being used now to make you feel it’s a sequel even though it is not.
2000 Crore Ka Scam
Producer Firoz Nadiadwala (not to be confused with his cousin Sajid Nadiadwala) has been in a lot of debt since years. He had not paid Anees Bazmee for Welcome Back, not paid many of his crew members, and many of his partners. I had been posting all these things for years, whenever there was news in the media, pata nahi aap log padhte the ya nahi.
Yaad ho toh he even needed to buy back rights for Hera Pheri from his partners and clear his debt, where Akshay Kumar stepped in to help him out. Ye bhi news ayi thi ki Welcome To The Jungle ki success ke baad hi Hera Pheri 3 ban sakti thi. Pichle saalo mein bar bar Hera Pheri 3 ki news ati thi but as you know, aaj bhi koi timeline fixed nahi hai.
Mera sawal ye hai ki iss film mein bahaut sara faltu kharcha kiya gaya hai. Ek toh chalo rains and storms mein kayi bar set toota, rescheduling ka panga pada itne saare actors ke sath, samajh ata hai budget badha hoga. Par news yaad hai kaha kaha foreign location mein shoot kiya tha? Film dekh ke zarurat lagi? Multiple countries mein ja ke shoot karne ki?
Excessive action scenes, flyign cars, blasting cars, grenade blasts, flamethrower, jets bhi hain, naval ship bhi hai, film ki party ka set bhi hai, glasses ka fountain bhi todna hai, hadd se zyada gaane bhi shoot karne hain.
For a producer who is having financial troubles, ye kuch zyada nahi ho gaya? We talk about so many upcoming filmmakers jo kam budget mein mast quality execute kar lete hain, lekin yaha toh aisa laga ki bhar bhar ke kharche kiye ja rahe hain. Loss dikhane ka plan hai kya sir? Movie ke plot ki tarah?
Marketing Ruines Theatrical Experience
Pata nahi koi iske bare mein baat kyu nahi karta. People have started pointing out ki trailer mein puri story bata di. But movie ane ke baad koi nahi kehta ki kaise experience ruin hua.
Welcome To The Jungle Teaser mein old Akshay Kumar dikha dikha diya tha. Main toh bhul bhi gaya tha. Lekin jaise hi film ke first half mein wo mention karta hai ki uske father was missing since 15 years, samajh aa gaya ki last mein ayenge bachane.
Fir paid preview wale din 4 actors Mahabharat wale honge ki news aa gayi thi. Article padha bhi nahi, caption mein hi sab likh diya tha. Ek ke chest pe Duryodhan dekha sab samajh aa gaya. That part was funny but they ruined it. Bahaut common ho gaya hai ab ye. Aisa lagta hai inko bas hashtags badhane hain internet pe jisse algorithm zyada se zyada push kare inke film news, articles, and posts ko. Baki audience ko toh ye ullu samajhte hi hain inko koi fark nahi padta unke movie experience se.
Wasted Characters
Itne saare characters bhar liye Welcome To The Jungle mein aur justice nahi de paye. Lara Dutta is only there for the training period. Zakir Hussain is not seen after one point. Jackie Shroff ko 4-5 plot related basoc dialogues ke alawa bas faltu ke expressions dene ke liye rakha tha. Charo taraf 50 cheezein ho rahi hain aur ye bas look diye ja rahe hain.
Kiku Sharda was only there for fat jokes. And Krushna was there to make most of those fat jokes. Jacqueline-Disha bas glamour and basic jo hota hai heroines ka utna hi. Mukesh Tiwari and Yashpal Sharma were also underutilised, and so were Rajpal Yadav and Paresh Rawal. Jis level ke comedy actors ye log hain, uss hisab se justice nahi mila.
Daler Mehendi ka toh kya bolu aisa lag raha tha dialogue bola hi nahi ja raha inse. Kartavya mein Saurabh Dwivedi ko log itna bol rahr the. Daler paaji bhi kam nahi the yaha. Ek bahaut lamba sa dialogue bolte hain (haan wahi trailer wala), aisa lagta hai sab rata-rataya ek bari mein bol gaye. Everyone claps. Maybe that was a genuine clap kyuki wo itna lamba dialogue bol gaye. Par comedy movie hai toh sab log ignore kar denge.
Paresh Rawal
Bhai ye thoda ho sakta hai kaafi log samajh na paye. Hear me out.
I feel Paresh Rawal is not able to act anymore. I mean, the way he used to. He was one jo puri tarah se ek character mein convert ho jate the. I always used to think wo real life mein itne simple hain, itne aram se baat akrte hain aur movies mein bilkul ek dusre hi insaan lagte hain. Hera Pheri, Phir Hera Pheri (dono Baburao alag hain), Andaaz Apna Apna, Malamaal Weekly, De Dana Dan, Haseena Maan Jayegi, Awara Paagal Deewana, Deewane Huye Paagal. Har ek character ek dusre se bulkul alag hai.
Lekin last kuch films mein unki delivery, unki acting, unki body language sab bahaut plain hai. Thamma, Bhooth Bangla, wo Taj Mahal wali film, aur ab Welcome To The Jungle. Sab mein bas ek hi tarah se delivery hai, plain and simple body language hai.
For some reason inko Baburao character pasand nahi. Kayi bar bol chuke hain. Duniya pagal hai unke liye, shayad unko bhi nahi pata ki Phir Hera Pheri mein kya kar gaye wo. Janta ka pyaar genuine hai, unka wo character, dono Hera Pheri ka, but especially Phir Hera Pheri ka, bahaut bahaut lajawab hai. Par wo same role nahi karna chahte ab, kayi bar bol chuke hain. Aur pichli kuch films ko dekhte hue mujhe lag nahi raha unse kuch mazedar ho bhi payega.
To be honest, main nahi chahta Phir Hera Pheri bane. Dekh liya Priyadarshan ka kaam bhi. Akshay, Suniel, all of them have grown old. Bahaut time beet chuka hai. Wo magic ab nahi ho payega. Fir ek sequel ke naam pe kuch average sa ban jayega, public bhi nostalgia ke naam pe dekh legi, lekin har tarah ke logic ke dekhte hue mujhe nahi lagta ki koi chance hai legacy ko match karne ka.
Verdict
Cringe nahi hai, bakwas nahi hai, aur comedy acchi hai. Time aur paisa hai toh dekh lo theatre mein with friends and family.
Main technical details mein ghusta hu isliye criticism hai. Warna aap fanpages hi dekh liya karo sab positive sunne ka mann ho toh.
