“Hum Peeche Nahi Hatenge“
Teaser Overview
120 Bahadur gave me mixed feelings. Thoda detail mein batana padega. Hear me out.

The Cut
I’m calling the cut weird because the information it has provided is somewhere in between what we get in a teaser and trailer. 2 minutes is not a good length for a teaser.
From this teaser, we got to know that it is about a specific Indo-China War of 1962. We got to know that it is about a certain regiment and their commanding officer, Major Shaitan Singh PVC. We got a glimpse of his mindset, his courage, his wife, and a few war scenes. What else do we want to know about a movie before watching it?
More than that, the opening scene tells us that the movie will be shown in flashback, where a certain young soldier is telling the story of what happened on 18 November 1962, which the seniors are having a hard time believing. Ye toh pakka chupa sakte the. Raashii Khanna’s crying scene indicates that he dies in the end and that’s why she is crying like that.
Still, it is fine if this is the only promo I’m gonna see before the movie. But if there is going to be a trailer, aur kitna plot aur footage dikha denge?

What I Would Have Done
The title/text cards were good. I would have kept the teaser shorter, keeping the entire focus on Farhan Akhtar and a few army scenes. I would not have shown any other character or their dialogues in the teaser. As the name suggests, teasers should be made only to tease, not tell you plot points. Wo trailer ka kaam hai.

Farhan Akhtar
Farhan Akhtar has always been a good actor and is loved by most people. He looks good in the film. Zyada nahi dekha teaser mein par jo dekha accha tha. We can hope for a promising performance from him.

War and Action
The war scenes look good. They feel authentic and not over-dramatized. But asal mein kaisa hai wo toh film dekhne ke baad hi pata chalega.
There is one scene where Farhan Akhtar is moving forward, killing chinese soldiers with a knife in his hand, shoots two soldiers and then kills another one with his knife. That was a very good sequence.

Beautiful Frames
One of the best aspects of the film seems to be the cinematography. Pahado mein toh sab accha lagta hi hai. Par acche se capture karna bhi zaruri hai. So, kudos to the DoP and Director duo. Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai ki last film Dhaakad thi. Overall film utni engaging nahi thi, par uska action and frames bahaut acche the.

Final Thoughts
It feels like the film would be nice. But the teaser was quite average for me. Aur haan se War 2 ke sath dikhaya jayega theatres mein, par maybe har ek theatre mein nahi. “Kyuki Attach Jaisa Kuch Nahi Hota.”

Let me know in the comments what you feel about the teaser.
