Loki Mama…. what have you done?
Coolie Trailer Overview
Been saying this for a while now, “Trailer cutting is an art.” It takes real talent to make such a thanda trailer with such good footage and starcast. Slow claps.

Good Opening
The opening sets well. It feels like its building up. There is a timer going on. The tick-tick sound, as if something is coming, something is gonna blow up. But build-up is followed by payoff. And we never get that pay-off. the trailer never peaks.

Music Killed It
We have seen so many reels where changing the music changes the feel. The most recent one being that of Titanic, when the ship is breaking and people are sliding down, they changed the music to that of Bhagam Bhag and the entire scene turned from tragedy to comedy. So you know what I’m trying to say.
We had two such great themes of Coolie we have been vibing on for so long. One is Disco and the other is Powerhouse. Powerhouse would have fit perfectly when Rajini is introduced. And later when everyone is dancing, Disco could have been used.
But what the hell did they use? It’s not even good to hear it on its own. How could they use it in the trailer? It kills the pacing, it kills the mood. That voice is so thin, its not going with the footage at all.

Start Cast
Have you seen the star cast? Have you seen the shots? Aamir Khan looks so good with his tattoo and killer attitude. That shot could have been something else, but it lost all its impact. Same goes for Nagarjuna, too. Many of us have seen that leak where he is wearing white and smashing the head of a person with a hammer. Iss trailer uska close up shot hai bas. Itne sahi tareeke se isko dikha sakte the.
Rajinikanth ka intro, aura, build-up bas words mein hai, dekhne mein kuch aya hi nahi. Bhai we love him up north as well. Jailer ka collection aya tha na north se, Coolie ke liye bhi hype hai na, fir ye kya tha? Ab sab log blind fans toh nahi hain ki kuch bhi dikha do accept kar lenge.

Strong Footage and Plot
I love the frames. A lot of them. Trailer mein definitely bahaut kuch nahi dikhaya hai. Bhai ‘A’ certificate mila hai wo bhi aisi maar-kaat wali film ko. Socho kuch toh hoga na. Abhi upar bataya Nagarjuna kisi ki khopdi khol deta hai. Pakka kaafi brutal scenes hone wale hain.
Usi ke according footage and frames mujhe bahaut acche lage. Isi liye toh keh raha hu the music literally killed the feel of the trailer. Aaj hi Tehran ki tareef kari thi music and sfx ka sahi use karne ke liye. Tehran mein toh kuch khas bgm bhi nahi tha, Coolie ke toh 2-2 the. Fir ye kachra use kaise kar liya inhone?

North Ki Hype
The hype for Coolie was there for sure, but I don’t know how it will impact it after the trailer. Yrf waise bhi distribution mein power dikhayega.
Aur dusri baat ye ki north mein aise blind fans nahi honge Rajini sir ke jaise Tamil Nadu mein honge. Waha toh trailer nahi bhi ata toh saare shows housefull hote. But north mein aisa nahi hota. So now let’s see what happens. War 2 trailer is better bolna start bhi kar diya logon ne, even though jab wo aya tha usko bhi gaali hi pad rahi thi.

LCU Connect?
They showed a glimpse of young Rajinikanth in black and white. The story is also about somebody who retired 30 years ago. Something similar happened in Vikram too, where Kamal Haasan’s arc was connected to older Vikram. Is something of that sort is gonna happen here too?
And is it part of LCU or not? I remember in Leo, they said it was not a part but later we found that it was. So let’s see.
