“Happy Birthday “
Alpha Teaser Overview
I was not expecting this, but it’s a well-cut teaser. I’m not going gaga over it, but let’s just discuss things one by one.
Teaser Cut
The teaser does its job of teasing. Unlike those which are as long as trailers. Good length, good flow, and does not reveal too much or try to show too many shots from across the film.
It was more like a small peek into the world they have created, with two character introductions only. Anil Kapoor and Sharvari ko na dikha ke accha kiya. Teaser mein sab bharne ki zarurat bhi nahi hoti.
It has a well-thought-out start, middle, and end. In few places, they made use of the gunshot scenes, using the sound as beats that align with the music. But it was not done throughout.
The teaser started with Alia’s Birthday and ended with the Happy Birthday tune, which was nice.
The glittering alpha symbol changes to the logo, and the blast leading to the release date within the Alpha symbol was also well done. As I said, the editor put some thought.
Alia Bhatt
I like her character intro. She laughs in the middle of the fight which shows she has a sassy and playful side as well, which is nice. Pathaan, Tiger, Kabir, sab kabhi na kabhi thoda chill dikhte hain ladte hue. (Haan Pathaan thoda zyada hi cheeky ho jata hai :p
Action
She was trained to be lethal, but itna kuch lethal dikhaya nahi. She was like any other agent. RAW agent se kaise alag hai uski jhalak dikhani thi.
Her action scenes were shot well. They mad eher look good. But there was nothing extraordinary in them. Let’s be honest, we have seen Ana De Armas in Ballerina recently and many other female action films before her. We are in 2026. If you are calling her a specially trained killing machine, then you gotta show that properly.
I can still say okay, this was only a teaser, not everything can be shown, but agar kuch hai film mein toh kuch toh jhalak dikhao to make me excited. It was all plain and simple.
Another reason why I’m calling it plain and simple is, did you notice the enemies? None of them was a match for her. Kaise useless log hain bhai? Ki challenge hi nahi kar rahe? Star Wars mein Stormtroopers ke memes dekhe honge ki how useless the are. Waise hi useless lag rahe the. Bellerina mein uski band baj gayi thi ladte ladte.
Really don’t want to compare it to Dhurandhar, I think it’s illogical to compare films like that. Genre and approach alag hai, bas spy same hone se ek category ki film nahi ho jati. Warna Johnny English bhi toh spy film hai.
Well, the reason I brought up Dhurandhar was to explain, ki kaise Jassi ya Hamza ko maarte hue dikhate hain toh humko samajh ata hai ki they are killing machines. So waise kuch shots hone chahiye the. Ye fuddu se dushmano se lad rahi thi pure time. Pata nahi film mein kuch alag, kuch naya hai ya nahi.
Bobby Deol
Haryanvi accent pasand nahi aya. Kisi ko pasand aya ho toh apki choice hai, but mujhe nahi aya.
Music
Tiger, Pathaan, Kabir, sabka BGM hai aur sab itne acche hain. Iska kaha hai?? Ye toh bahaut iconic honi chahiye na. Tease karke chhodna tha BGM middle mein kahi.
Plot Prediction
Initially toh media mein aya tha ki Bobby Deol is the villain in Alpha. Waise ye jhuth bhi bolte hain jaan ke, jaise Emraan Hashmi ka ₹10 cr ka intro shoot kiya tha (koi intro nahi tha), Hrithik-Jr NTR ka dance faceoff duniya se alag bana diya tha (maha wahiyat tha), etc. And yaha pe Bobby Deol trains soldiers for India.
My guess for the plot is, and it’s a full cliche, but here it goes.
Bobby starts using his agents (Alia and maybe others), for his personal gains (either money or some personal agenda), without the agents knowing about them. Basically another rouge agent.
Sharvari might be a RAW agent or someone trained by Anil Kapoor, maybe. She goes after Alia or Bobby Deol. They Fight. Alia gets to know the truth. Both now join forces to fight Bobby Deol.
Hope ye na ho, bada cliche sa hai. And yeah, the story is written by our beloved Uday Chopra.
Trailer End
The drawing on the wall shows the names, Baba and Sita. So Alia’s name is Sita. Maza nahi aya. Cool agent hai, stylized action film franchise hai. Naam bhi thoda cool hona chahiye tha. Ab offend mat ho jana. Mata Sita ki baat nahi kar raha hu. Kuch log ready rehte hain bas bana mile ladne ka.
