Congrats guys! Welcome To The Jungle ki puri story trailer mein dikha di hai. Ab isme aisa toh kuch nahi hai ki spoil kar diya, but flow toh pata hi rahega, kuch fresh nahi lagega theatre mein. Toh ek aspect toh waise hi khatam kar diya iss ghantiya trailer ne.

A criticism of a bad trailer is not an attack on your favourite star. Please be mindful and act sensibly. I’m not here for blind bashing. I’ll be sharing my thoughts; you may or may not relate to it. I’ll talk about the positives as well. It will be a balanced review, as it should be.
What An Opening
People saying it’s a dig at Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana? Some are saying it’s a dig at Dangal. I don’t think so. This was actually creative. Pata nahi kyu log bas comparisons aur negativity mein ghus jate hain. Have you seen Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge? In that movie they were deliberately making a flop film to run away with the money. In Tees Maar Khan also, they made a fake film which went on to win Oscars. Waise hi ye bhi ek fake film bana rahe hain (reason jo bhi ho). So uss hisab se toh ye creative hua, kisi pe taunt nahi. I liked it.
Trailer Cut
Dekho film kaisi bhi ho alag baat hai, lekin trailer cut toh bakwas hi hai. Length is too long and puri story deikha di. Nayapan nahi lagta aise mein jab film theatre mein dekhte hain. Kab samjhenge makers. Bola karo ye sab bas goosebumps goosebumps mat kiya karo.
Yar ye ek welcome ka maha ghatiya sa redition hai jo pure time chalta rehta hai background mein. Kya hai wo? Main C word nahi likh raha yaha pe lekin wahi hai wo. Title track wala use karna tha na.
Comedy
I liked the comedy. Dekho maine kuch expect karna chhod diya hai. Ab bas neend na aye theatre mein toh bhi main khush ho jata hu. Housefull 5 bhi mujhe isi liye acchi lagi thi. Real comedy toh expect hi nahi karta main ab. Akshay Kumar kitna bhi try karle lekin jab makers hi bekar film banane lage hain, toh mera wo GOAT Akki kaise wapas ayega jiske dekh ke puri duniya has has ke pagal ho jati thi. Bhooth Bangla mein bhi kaha wo magic la paye Priyadarshan ji. Toh chhod diya hai maine ab.
Comic timing of actors look good. Dialogues of Farhad Samji are not as bad or cringe as we used to have. And the execution by actors is actually good which makes those punchlines sell. Wo last mein tent mein ek dusre se lad rahe hote hain wo best laga. Very clean delivery by all actors. And Majnu Bhai Ki Painting ka sequel tops it all.
Gimmick Factor
Welcome Back dekhi hai? Even though it was not good, it was still a sequel without Akshay and Katrina. Uday-Majnu continued their lives, Dr. Ghungroo had an illegitimate son, Uday Shetty had another step-sister jiski shaadi karwani hai.
Here, they have just said “Uday Ka bhai, Majnu Ka Bhai.” Ho gaya bhai sequel. Na characters continued hain na story. Akshay Kumar can’t be playing Rajeev. Bas ke Paresh Rawal ko zabardasti Dr. Ghungroo na bana de. Sense nahi banega.
Purane gaano ka remake kardo, ho gaya sequel. And why are these remakes so bad? Zabardasti ka rap, besure singers, random music riffs?
Ye universe ka naya keeda lag gaya hai. Awapa Paagl Deewana, Hera Pheri aur Welcome ka Universe banayenge. Koi sense hai iss baat ki? Unko bahaut lag rahi hai. Teeno films mein Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty aur Paresh Rawal hain. Kaise sense banayenge? Ya bas random kuch bhi dalna chahte hain sense ki koi zarurat nahi? Yar ye toh convenient ho gaya na ki jaha ho sake gimmick ghusa do audience ko ullu banane ke liye.
Yeda Anna ka character itna different tha, yaha weird comedic character hai. Akshay mein usko Guru Gulab Khatri nahi dikh raha? Aur Paresh Rawal mein Manilal? Wo wo wo bhulne ki beemari dikhayenge ya nahi? Ya bas naam ka Yeda Anna hai?

They have credited the incredible, Late Mr. Neeraj Vora Ji for the story. If you don’t already know, he was the director of Phir Hera Pheri, and was a strong member of all Priyadarshan films that we have loved so much. Sadly, he passed away in 2017.
While the story is one part, there are other factors like screenplay and direction that shape a film. I’m not complaining here, just want to make you understand that writing the story alone is not enough. Let’s keep it separate from Welcome To The Jungle and try to understand.
The story of Baahubali was written by SS Rajamouli’s father, V. Vijayendra Prasand. Now imagine if it was not directed by SS Rajamouli, but Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Would it have been the same film? What if it was directed by Rohit Shetty? Or Farhad Samji? For the same story, do you think the final film would have turned out to be the same if any of these directors had directed it?
Final Thoughts
Jitna trailer mein dikhaya usse better comedy honi chahiye bas. Chal jayegi. Bhooth Bangla se bhi zyada kamayegi. Public bhooki baithi hai abhi, kuch tagda aa nahi raha and nostalgia factor chal jata hai aise time pe so high chance ki chalni chahiye.
Par jaise pichli forced sequels se dekha hai, ki log bhul jayenge, long term mein na koio film yaad rakhega, na jokes na kuch. Legacy original ki hi rahegi. Ye log bas iss time paise chhap lenge aur fans thoda flex karke khush ho jayenge.
