Samachar This Week – 27/04/25

From news of new films being made to some films not being made, a lot happened in the last week. So, here we are at OCD Times bringing to you, a recap of last week – your weekly dose of Samachar to cover all news, updates and rumours surrounding movies! Samachar This Week.

Dekho Wo Aagaya

Krrish 4 is finally in the pre-production stage! The film will be centered around the concept of time travel, marking a bold evolution for the franchise. Everyone’s favorite character, Jadoo, is coming back.

Priyanka Chopra, Preity Zinta, and Rekha are expected to reprise their roles in the film. Hrithik Roshan will once again become Rohit Mehra, whose character will come at a significant point in the story.

Atlee Ki Heroines

Mrunal Thakur has been locked as the leading lady in Atlee’s next film with Allu Arjun. The film features 3 actresses and talks are on with Janhvi Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

While Janhvi is said to be close to signing, negotiations with Deepika are still ongoing.

Next Cop Universe Film?

Rohit Shetty has started shooting for Maria IPS, starring John Abraham and Tamannaah Bhatia in leading roles. In a recent interview, Shetty revealed his plans to expand the Cop Universe with Simmba 2 and Sooryavanshi 2.

Additionally, spin-off movies featuring Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff are also in the pipeline.

Vikrant Massey Back To Acting?

A recent announcement revealed that Vikrant Massey is set to play Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in a global thriller film titled White. The filming is set to begin in July. The film will be bankrolled by Siddharth Anand and Mahaveer Jain under the banners of Marflix Pictures and Mahaveer Jain Films. It will be directed by Montoo Bass.

Big Update On Mahabharata

The most ambitious project of Aamir Khan is finally in the spotlight. Recently, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Aamir Khan revealed that he might begin working on the scripting of Mahabharata with a team of writers by the end of this year.

The project will be made in multiple parts, with each part being made silultaneously by different directors. If everything goes well, we might get an update very soon.

Highlights of the week

Barring these updates, there has been a lot of developments regarding various other projects as well.

1. Kesari Chapter 2 earned ₹46.10 Cr India net collection in the first week and is holding strong on the second weekend at ₹57.79 Cr.
   
2. Imran Khan has started shooting for his comeback film. Co-stars Bhumi Pednekar and Gurfateh Pirzada.
   
3. Along with Rani Mukherjee, Shaitaan fame Janki Bodiwala will be the second lead of Mardaani 3, set to release in theatres on 27th February 2026.
   
4. Naagzilla announcement video out now, starring Kartik Aaryan, helmed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, produced by Dharma Productions. It is releasing in theatres on 14th August 2026 (clashing with Bhediya 2).
   
5. Kriti Sanon is said to be the leading lady of Don 3 opposite Ranveer Singh. Kiara Advani left due to pregnancy.
   
6. Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s Bollywood movie Abir Gulaal, also starring Vaani Kapoor, will not be released in India.
   
7. Kriti Sanon is in talks with director Anand L. Rai for a horror thriller titled Nai Naveli.
   
8. YRF is launching Ahaan Panday (brother of Ananya Panday) and Aneet Padda in a romantic film directed by Mohit Suri, all set to hit big screens on 18th July 2025.
   
9. Tamannaah Bhatia has been cast opposite Sidharth Malhotra in Vvan.

Shoots – Kya Shuru Kya Khatam

1. Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi have wrapped up the first schedule of their courtroom drama.
   
2. Yash has wrapped up one major schedule of Toxic. He visited Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Temple before beginning his journey on Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.
   
3. Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are set to start shooting for Ramayana Part 2 in May.

New Releases, Release Dates and Announcements

1. Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning will be released in Indian theatres six days earlier, on 17th May 2025, before its global release.
   
2. 4 new posters of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 are out now.
   
3. Sitaare Zameen Par will be releasing in theatres on 20th June, trailer to be out on 1 May 2025.
   
4. Maalik release date has been pushed to 11th July to avoid a clash with Sitaare Zameen Par.
   
5. Horor-comedy KapKapiii teaser is out now.
   
6. Suriya starrer Retro trailer out now.
   
7. Costao trailer is out now and will be streaming on Zee5 from 1st May.
   
8. Suswagatam Khushaamdeed official teaser out now.

Hollywood and other International Samachar

1. Wednesday Season 2 official teaser out now.
   
2. Predator: Badlands official teaser trailer out now.
   
3. The Fantastic Four: First Steps official trailer out now.
