“So Kabir Never Loved Naina? Not One Bit?“
Song Overview
Aavan Jaavan is a melodious song, which has been shot very well. Very different from the recent songs of Spy Universe filsm. But thodi si complains hain, batata hu.

The Love Song
Marketed as “the team who made Kesariya” song, Aavan Jaavan has that vibe but something feels missing. The hook or chorus does not hit us like the way they should. “Sanu vi kadi aavan jaavan de does not hit the same as “Kesariya Tera Ishq Hai Piya” or “Ghungroo Toot Gaye.”
I listened to the song multiple times before reviewing. I love the vibe, I love the melody, I love the visuals, but fir bhi ek expectation hoti hai kuch logon se, kuch titles se.. bas wahi reason hai.. aage batata hu.
The music has been composed by Pritam, Lyrics are by Amitabh Bhattacharya and sung by Arijit Singh & Nikhita Gandhi.

The Punjabification of Hindi Music
I was feeling this since a long time but did not say anything. One reason is that I already complain about a lot of stuff that go wrong in the movie industry, and this one felt the least important. But since yesterday, I’m seeing a lot of people complaining about the same thing. What is that? Too much Punjabi in Hindi films.
Don’t get me wrong, there is no hatred here. I love Punjabi songs, I have no problem when they are played in parties, in gym or while driving cars, but everything has a place. Understand it like this, how will you feel when you start having too much of English in songs? OR too much of Turkish/Arabic like Jamal Kudu from Animal? It will feel off, right?
Hindi and Urdu have been the language of poetry since centuries and the official languages of Theatre and Hindi Cinema since decades. We are more accustomed to it. As we have evolved, a bit of English, Punjabi or any other Indian language is not a problem. But since a few years the influence of Punjabi lyrics or entire songs have been increasing a lot and they feel off.
Socho puri film mein Hindi aur English bolte hain par gaana Punjabi mein gaate hain. Nahi logic nahi laga raha, bas keh raha hu sahi nahi lagta. Aur aisa bahaut saare log feel karte hain.

The Hook Step ?
Dekho yar, India mein films stars ke naam pe bechi jati hain aur stars se kuch expectations hoti hain. So agar Hrithik hai, toh dance expected hai. Remember Ghungroo Toot Gaye song ka hook step kitna iconic tha? Aavan Jaavan ka itna bekar kyu?
Fighter mein bhi Ishq Jaisa Kuch dekh ke maza aya tha. Bekar Dil ka utna khas nahi tha, fir bhi theek tha. Ye usse bhi kam hai. Actually song bhi aisa hai ki Bosco bhi kuch nahi kar paye. So again, its the song which was not the perfect choice.
Jab puri film stars and franchise ke naam pe market kar rahe ho, toh fan service bhi acche se kar do na. A more catchy song, a better hook step would have made more sense.

Hrithik and Kiara
The best part about the song is the visuals. I love how Hrithik and Kiar are looking, how they are behaving, like they are too much in love. Appreciation for the director, the cinematographer and the actors, maza aa gaya.
The costumes are fab too. Kiara is looking beautiful and hot. Nahi sirf Bikini scene ke liye nahi keh raha, every single costume is just fab.
It was revealed in a report that this song is a flashback scene. Makes sense, coz Kabir looks way out of character here. Ab samajh mein aa raha hai Naina ko bas use kiya. Feel bad for her.

Why Not Lyrical?
Firse wahi complain. Sab kyu dikha dete hain? 4 minute ka gaana pura dikha diya. Theatre ke liye bacha ke rakho na. Lyrical ayega, nahi dekhegi public pura gaana pehle se toh theatre mein aur maza ayega. Curiosity rahegi, experience accha hoga. Warna 10 bar dekh lenge tv pe, social media pe, toh theatre mein phone nikal lenge.
Ab Hrithik-NTR ka Naatu-Naatu song mat reveal kar dena pura.

The Bikini Scene
Samajh sakta hu marketing walo ko lagta hai ki ye sab pura dikha denge toh baate hongi, hashtag badhenge, film ki hype banegi. Par pata nahi genius log reality se itna dur kyu rehte hain. Zyadatar log jo online shor machate hain, “hype” banate hain, wo theatre nahi jate. Wo bas online tak hi seemit rehte hain. Most are kids and dont have money.
And if they think they can entice the fans, then news flash – no fandom is big enough to single-handedly save a film. Agar aisa hota toh uss star ki ek bhi film flop nahi hoti, kam collection nahi karti. In reality, its alsways the neutrals who make or break a film. Yrf ka hi example le lete hain, Ahaan aur Aneet ke kaha the fans, aaj sab taraf unka jalwa hai na.

Why So Much Complain?
Only because we want better. Not just better, the best. We want the level so high that it blows everyone’s minds, no matter where in the world they are. I think War part one was that film. The complaints were so less, so insignificant, that people chose to ignore them. It was unanimously loved by most. And Ghungroo Toot Gaye was a rage.
Dkeho, jisse expectations hoti hain, usi ki complain karte hain. Jisse pyaar hota hai, usi pe gussa karte hain. The world knows I love the Spy Universe, but I’m not a blind lover. Things can actually be top notch but aisa ho nahi raha hai. Aavan Jaavna is vey nice, but not the best. Bas isi liye kuch complains thi.
Sirf bikini scene dekh dekh ke song ke views mat badhana. Warna log kahenge, dekh tu complain kar rha tha, song toh hit hai :p
