Producer Bhatt Making New Strides
Alia Bhatt is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. But at the same time, the producer in her is building the slate for her banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions.
As per reports, Alia Bhatt is producing a young adult web series in collaboration with Amazon Prime Video, that is set in a college, and will introduce four new actors. This would be her second collaboration with the streaming platform after Poacher (2024).
Alia demands Fresh Faces
The series’ final draft is being worked upon. A source reveals, “It’s a high-concept, young adult series set in an urban Indian college campus—think slice-of-life meets coming-of-age. The narrative plays out from the point of view of two young couples.”
Casting is underway, with an emphasis on new faces. Alia Bhatt has apparently made it clear that she wants to back fresh talent through the project.
“Alia wants the show to feel authentic. She is certain that the chosen faces should be real-life 20-somethings, whom the audience can relate to. Four fresh faces will be launched with the series,” says a casting insider.
If everything falls into place, this young adult series will go on floors later this year.
Alia’s other projects at ESP
Apart from the young adult series, Eternal Sunshine Productions is also developing a screen adaptation of Manju Kapur’s novel Difficult Daughters. This will be directed by Alia Bhatt’s mother and actor Soni Razdan.
Alia’s sister Shaheen Bhatt is also creating another series for the production house.
Previous Ventures of ESP
ali launched her production house in 2021 and her first project was Darlings (2022), which she co-produced for Netflix with Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. She then served as Executive Producer in Amazon Prime Video’s Malayalam web series, Poacher (2024). Her latest venture as producer was Jigra (2024), which she co-produced with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
Alia Bhatt’s Upcoming Films
Alia has completed her shoot for Yrf Spy Unverse’s Alpha, which is scheduled to release in December this year. She is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. Next she will begin shooting for Maddock Horror Comedy Unniverse’s Chamunda.
