Raju Ki Paisa Double Scheme: 25+ Sequels In Pipeline

Zor Zor Se Bolke Sabko Scheme Bata Raha Hu

We recently saw a clash of sequels this Diwali where both the films earned huge amounts, despite being mid at best. And not only that, a lot of sequels are being announced left right and centre. Have you wondered why?

As studios and filmmakers are failing to excite the audience and people are choosing not to spend their hard earned money on mediocre stuff, theatres are re-releasing old hit films in order to lure audience into theatres. While this helped the theatres make some money in the dry period, the studios found a new scheme.

Oh yes! This scheme is better than Raju’s 25 Din Mein Paisa Double scheme. And the name of this scheme is Sequels!
OTT platforms are offering big bucks to studios if they are making a sequel, even before they have begun writing any script. This guarantees profits for the studios even before they have a single word on paper.

Sequels and franchises offer a nostalgia factor, which guarantees a watch on ott and tv. People watch not just the new film but the older films as well. A recent example is from two days ago when Bhool Bhulaiyaa 1&2 were trending in the Top 10 in India. And it is also the reason why people chose to watch the two big Diwali releases despite the fact that the reviews were not very good.

Nostalgia does work and studios have realized this. They only need a small run at the theatres while most of the budget is recovered from the non-theatrical rights. And we all know how easy it is to make a sequel in India. You don’t even need to continue the story. Just the same actor with the same name and title of the film is enough. New story, new characters, new heroine and we are set. These are called ‘Spiritual Sequels,’ where the story is not connected.

While this is the case in north, south is going for 2-parters. Sometimes they even decide in the middle of production that this can be stretched into two parts.

There are sequels that genuinely carry the story forward, and audience to wishes to see the characters evolve. Let’s have a look at all the sequels coming our way, starting from Pushpa 2 on Dec 5, 2024.

Are sequels bad? Not at all. Hollywood makes it all the times. All the web series have multiple seasons. But it’s all about honesty vs cash-grab. Sequels where the story is taken forward are the best. Some spiritual sequels are also interesting. But you can clearly make out which ones are good and which ones are forced.
