The bond between Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali has stood strong for several years. Ever since Bhansali saw his first huge success with ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, Salman became his favourite. He became his go-to choice for every project. Following this, he offered to cast Salman – Aishwarya again in ‘Bajirao Mastani’ back in 2000 as they were the most in-demand couple at that time. Unfortunately, after their breakup, the film’s fate remained hanging in the balance for a long time.

With no option left, Bhansali had to move on which led to him making ‘Devdas’ with Shah Rukh Khan, in 2002. This step severely upset Salman. SLB then went on to make ‘Black’ with Rani Mukherji and Amitabh Bachchan, in 2005.
After a long time, they decided to bury their past with each other. Sanjay decided to cast Salman in a cameo appearance in the Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor starrer ‘Saawariya’, in 2007.
Several years later, when everything was going great for both sides, Salman was again sad that Bhansali had revived ‘Bajirao Mastani’ in 2015 but with Ranveer Singh and not him.

However, things did seem to get better when Salman came out to support Bhansali while he was suffering from nationwide protests, death threats and cases issued against him for ‘Padmaavat’ in 2018.
After the huge success of ‘Padmaavat’, Bhansali decided to take up ‘Inshallah’ as his next project. He offered the film to Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone. After several discussions, Deepika left the film, and Alia Bhatt was offered the role along with Salman.

After some development on the film, Salman left the film in between due to creative differences between him and the director. This left Bhansali suffering with several losses. He was left with no other choice but to shelve the film. After all of that, he went on to direct ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ starring Alia Bhatt.
According to recent reports, Salman has reached out to Bhansali to revive ‘Inshallah’. He feels that the love story was very fresh and audacious which he would like to try at this point in his career.
The report also said that Salman has planned to stop working with his family or for favours now. Meanwhile, Salman is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Tiger 3’ during Diwali. His next film is not locked yet but it is expected to be Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ki Shaadi’, before moving on to ‘Tiger vs Pathaan’ early next year.

SLB is currently wrapping up the post-production of ‘Heeramandi’ for Netflix. After that, he will move on to ‘Baiju Bawra’ with Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. If all goes well, we can see Salman and SLB finally collaborating on ‘Inshallah’ after that.
Do you think this duo will reunite and ‘Inshallah’ will finally be made?
